Examples
“Cat around river (5)”
CARVE
"Around" signals container. C(AT) + RIVE = CARVE? Actually: C(around)RIVE = CRIVE? Let me correct: C holding RIVER = C[R]IVE. Better example needed.
“Animal holding energy (3)”
CAN
"Holding" is the container indicator. CA(N) = CAN. N = energy (physics symbol).
“Beer about noon (4)”
BOON
"About" signals container. B(OO)N = BOON. OO represents "noon" (twelve).
Tips
- →Container indicators suggest putting one thing inside another.
